Mexico Real Estate Expo DAY 2
Sunday, 14 October 2007

Yesterday was actually quite a lot busier than day one as it was Saturday.  The doors here at the expo open each day from 11am to 8pm in the evening.  Today is the last day of the expo for 2007 and because it is Sunday everyone is anticipating it to be the biggest of the three day event.  As the show came to a close last evening I was able to quickly grab some overhead photos of the expo floor.

mexicorealestateI spent most of yesterday doing interviews travelling form booth to booth really focusing on the folks that are promoting projects in the Riviera Maya.  I tried to keep each interview brief as it seemed each time I would come to a booth and begin an interview that particular booth would become overrun with people.  It was very interesting chatting with the various exhibitors and hearing their opinions on what people at the expo are saying and what they think about Mexico real estate in the Riviera Maya.  I would like to apologize in advance as the sound quality was not as good as usual due to some microphone problems.  You can still hear the information and get a feel for what is happening at the expo.

To hear the podcast interview from the Mexico Real Estate show in Mexico City, click here.   Then click LISTEN NOW.

I also attended a conference given by E. David Selva and Bob McCain of Caribe Properties.  This one hour presentation covered all aspects of the investment and growth potential in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, and all of the Riviera Maya.  It should the growth pattern of the whole area and then they speicially drilled down on Playa Del Carmen showing how it has been one of the fastest growing communities in the entire world for several years now.

I also had a quick visit with Mario Aviles, the National AMPI President, who was the keynote speaker for the opening of the Bienes Raices 2007 event.  Today I am hoping to catch up with him one more time for a short podcast interview if his schedule will allow it.  I will follow this series of reports after the expo comes to close this evening.--Bill Mabra, Editor, Riviera Maya Real Estaste News

Mexico City Real Estate Expo 2007
Saturday, 13 October 2007

Yesterday the "Bienes Raices 2007" International Mexico real estate expo kicked-off and was very well attended for a Friday morning/afternoon.  The first day began with a welcome ceremony as well as the opening by AMPI National President Mario Aviles.  The expo director from TradeX also welcomed all exhibitors, visitors, and real estate professionals to the show and the ribbon was cut officially starting the 2007 expo.

Even though the show is in Mexico City there are exhibitors from Canada, USA, Panama, Nicaragua, and other countries as well as this is truly an international expo.  The attendence is expected to grow today (Saturday) with the biggest day anticipated to be Sunday. Here are some photos from the first day at the expo in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Riviera Maya is well represented at this show as many investors and visitors have a keen interest in this area of the world.  Quadra Alea and La Amada from Cancun, Mexico is represented by Ruiz Barton Realtors in Playa Del Carmen.  Also exhibiting is Bob McCain and his team from Caribe Properties in Playa Del Carmen.  Other exhibitors from the area include Tierra Azul presenting the Downtown Tulum project from Tulum, Mexico.  SIMCA develpors presenting two new projects has a very impressive booth and attracts attention as they are the only ones here with a palm tree and REAL sand.  The Emerald Project from Cancun is here with Costa Realty and also Mareazul from Playa Del Carmen.

All included there are more than 100 exhibitors covering everything from Graphic design and renderings to web consultants such as www.solutionsabroad.com.  I had the pleasure of visitng with Simon Burgess the Sales and Marketing Director of solutions abroad.  This is a fantastic resource on the Internet for any expats looking for a "one stop" shop to find information for all things pertaining to moving and living in Mexico.
