Playa del Carmen Playa Del Carmen is a strong growing investment market.
Hello from Playa del Carmen to all our friends and clients.
By Shawn Bandick
What an experience it is to live and work in Playa Del Carmen. I was recently told by a friend and client that the Guinness book of records just put Playa del Carmen as the fastest growing town on the planet. The article is also on the Yahoo Travel Site check this link
We see first hand evidence of this every day.
Benito Juarez ave has been repaved with nice side walks and palm trees planted in the center median. Fifth avenue has been extended through the Colosio. Tenth avenue has also been rebuilt all the way through the Colosio it has double lanes with a median down the center. There are new stop lights on the major intersection all over town even 34th street has lights at the high way now which is going a long way to help ease the traffic coming and going from down town.
Paving has started on every street from the highway into the Colosio.
Even the Ejido across the high way is swarming with activity. The
entire area between Juarez and Constituyentes is undergoing a huge
upgrade of services and infrastructure. They have trenched all the
roads to put in underground services. It seems to be about 75% complete
now. It’s dusty and a bit hard to get around in those areas but we are
so thankful that the city is taking care of this now. Once all the
digging and refilling is done the roads will be paved and have side
walks put in.
There’s nothing like living through the growing pains of a city on the move.
Many of you have heard me speak of the Mall of America being built out
in the Grand Plaza commercial area on the north end of town. Well I am
happy to say the construction is really advancing now. Some stores look
ready for fixtures to come in, and the theaters are huge. Apparently
the goal is for the mall to be open by November. The new Office Depot
is also open now. The new shopping area on the south end of town is in
the finishing stages now. There will be a Sorania grocery store, Price
club and a Cineplex. The hospital just outside Playacar is just
finishing up.
All this growth is imperative to provide infrastructure and services to
help support the permanent population base and allow the tourist area
to develop as it needs to, to support the increased tourism.
Another very interesting thing has happened over the past year. We have
all seen great rental returns and increased value in our real estate
holdings. Also many investors who bought multiple units in
preconstruction are selling now. This is giving us an inventory base of
good value new condos and villas complete and ready to move into. For
the buyer who prefers to stand in the condo and see the view rather
than buy off building plans this is a great opportunity. Of course
there are plenty of quality new projects in the works around town and
still they are selling out before they are complete. So now we have the
best of both worlds for our investors. Whether you prefer
preconstruction opportunities or finished construction Playa del Carmen
has a lot to offer with a very exciting future don’t miss it.
We look forward to seeing you when you have a chance to come and enjoy Playa del Carmen.
